| Just two years old and gathering the attention of 35,000 people every day: that's Indiyeah 2006, a part of the Mumbai Festival that gets underway next month, and is likely to get so many visitors thanks to a colourful palette of performances and cuisines.
Siddharth Kak's Surabhi Foundation for Research and Cultural Exchange (Surabhi FORCE) is one of the main organisers of Indiyeah 2006; it has The Times of India as the media partner.
The festival is being held from January 14 to 29, 2006, at the Bandra Reclamation ground. The idea is to make every participant have a lot of fun as s/he shops, eats and watches artistes perform.
Not once will s/he get the feeling that s/he is being force-fed a boring dose of culture but, will nevertheless, imbibe a feeling of pride at being Indian.
A number of national and international artistes will perform and no less than 400 stalls displaying authentic Indian crafts will find place. |
