| This Gujarati play is about two renowned poets of Gujarati literature whose work touched the hearts of common people. Ramesh Parekh was from the small town of Amreli, used a common Gujarati idiom and created magic in his creations. The other poet, Mareez, was considered the Ghalib of Gujarati ghazals. The range of themes in Ramesh Parekh's poetry varied from sugarcane and seasons to the inner landscape of a common man from Amreli. Mareez's ghazals covered another spectrum of subjects, from country liquor and god to betrayal by one's beloved. This unusual one-man show evokes memories of both these poets and their distinctive personalities on stage. Written, produced, directed and performed by Shobhit Desai. |
