| The Kanada and Kanada Prakars present a festival of vocal music, who have a pivotal role in Hindustani and Karnatic Music. The original name of Kanada as described in the scriptures is “Karnat”. It is also believed that these tunes are amongst the basic or aboriginal 18 tunes of the Indian folklore from which the entire repertoire of ragas is said to have emanated.Well known performers like Jayashree Patnekar will present Nayaki Kanada & Raisa Kanada and Rashid Khan - Darbari Kanada & Shahana on the first day of the festival. On the second day, Ulhas Kashalkar will present Kaunsi Kanada & Kafi Kanada and Veena Sahasrabuddhe will present Abhogi Kanada & Adana. |
